The Astar Peers Program Season 3.1 is seeking five community members to operate archive nodes for the Astar Network. The Peers Program strengthens the decentralization of Astar Network through community-operated archive nodes. It also gives participants practical experience with Linux and blockchain infrastructure.

## [](#p-36091-why-the-peers-program-1) ** Why the Peers Program?**
A decentralized network becomes stronger when its infrastructure is operated by more people across more regions.
The Peers Program helps community members:
* Contribute directly to the resilience of Astar Network
* Gain hands-on experience operating a blockchain node
* Build practical Linux and infrastructure skills
* Connect with other technical contributors in the Astar community
To improve geographic diversity, preference will be given to applicants from:
* South America
* Africa
* West Asia
* Southeast Asia
* Australia
## [](#p-36091-who-can-apply-2) ** Who Can Apply?**
You may apply if you:
* Have basic Linux experience
* Can prepare an ARM or x86\_64 machine
* Can provide at least 4 GB of RAM; 8 GB or more is recommended
* Can provide at least 3 TB of HDD or SSD storage
* Can run an Astar archive node and connect it to Polkadot Telemetry
* Can aim for at least 80% monthly uptime
* Are willing to register the required on-chain identity
> You do **\*\*not\*\*** need to have a node running before you apply. Selected participants will receive the information needed to prepare and begin operating their nodes.

## [](#p-36091-rewards-3) ** Rewards**
The base reward is **USD 30 equivalent per month, paid in ASTR**. It is intended to help cover part of the cost of operating a node.
* 100% reward: monthly uptime of 80% or more
* 50% reward: monthly uptime below 80%
* 30% reward: a reported and confirmed restoration or resynchronization period
* No reward: the node is inactive or discontinued, or the required on-chain identity is not registered
